All the feelings
Omg, you guys.
What a weekend, huh? I had planned to write about something different, but then - well, everything happened, and I'm currently a mushy puddle of feelings. ALL.THE.FEELINGS.
First, there is Ellen's Tribute to the Obamas.
Or, how about A Big LGBT Thank You to President Obama? I had tears in my eyes at this point. Little did I know that this was just the beginning ...
Because, after Friday (let's not talk about that), there came Saturday.
And with it, The Women's March on Washington.
Seeing all the images and videos, reading about the unbelievable turnout, and seeing so many men supporting the women in their lives gave me so much hope and joy, tears were running down my face yet again.
(It was an emotional weekend.)
I'm not what you would call a political person. I follow politics only on the surface, enough to know in a broad sense what's going on, but not in great detail.
And I dislike getting caught in political debates, because I get the sense that it's less about listening to what the other person has to say, and more about getting your own point across.
But this? This is different. This is about being a decent human being, about treating other people with respect and dignity.
Witnessing this demonstration of solidarity, peace and harmony, was incredible.
It makes me believe in the goodness in people, and that there is so much beauty and kindness in our world, which is a great reminder for the new week.
This is it for today, my loves.
Like I said, I had something else planned, but it deserves its own letter, so all shall be revealed next week.
In the meantime, thanks for reading, and for being here.
Let's tackle this week like the fabulous, feisty lady in the above picture! We are not giving up. Never.
We got this.
