Do you believe in magic?
Dear dream-chasers, warriors and little pixies,
let's talk magic, okay?
Do you believe in it? Do you believe that the impossible can happen? That solutions to problems will pop up when you least expect it?
I do.
With magic, ANYTHING is possible. And let me tell you, living life with that mindset is great fun. You never know what wonderful surprise might be waiting for you!
It enables you to dream big, worry less, and enjoy more.
What do you call it if an old friend (who used to work with your husband and is talented with his hands), calls out of the blue, announcing that he's moving to town for 4 months, and asking you if you have some work for him? Right at the moment when you have plenty of work (reinforcing fences, building a barn, a workshop, a garage, and several gazebos for the birds) and didn't know how to do it alone?
Magic.
What do you call it if you've always dreamed of having the kind of house where you would spontaneously have neighbours and friends over for casual meals? But in the old house, you didn't have the right neighbours, and inviting people over always stressed you out to no end because the house was so difficult to keep clean.
But now, after a series of unforeseen events last summer, you have the house you always wanted: Easy to clean, great for entertaining, and with nice neighbours you enjoy spending time with.
Is it coincidence? Luck? Choice? Or is it magic?
What if you wrote down your ideal future over 2 years ago, and when you find it again, you are astonished at how many of your dreams have become reality?
"My dream log cabin is small, around 1600 sf." (Ours is 1240 sf)
"From the porch, you step into a large combined living and kitchen area." Uhm, hello.
"Our cabin would be in an area where it snows a bit during the winter." Check.
"Most of the time though, it is sunny with blue skies, and a LOT less rainy than where we are right now." Check.
"I will stay at home and write." Check.
"About twice a week (maybe 3 times, tops) I will drive into the nearby town to go to work." Omg, check!
There are many more. It's seriously spooky!
But what really gave me goosebumps was the picture I included in that pose (it's a painting I found on Pinterest):
I wrote next to it: "That's the view I would love to have from my front porch."
Now, check this out:
The view from our balcony.
I know it's debatable, but to me this looks a lot like that random painting I found on Pinterest and that's probably not even from a real place.
Like I said, MAJOR.GOOSEBUMPS.
Coincidence?
No. MAGIC.
Yogis (and fans of The Secret) also like to talk about manifesting your dreams into reality. If you can picture what you want your life to look like, and you have this mental image with you at all times, you will start working towards your vision, be it consciously or subconsciously.
I like that, too.
Because it puts the reins of your life into your hands. You're not a helpless bystander in the creation of your life, but an active participant.
You get to create it the way you want it to be!
I like that even more.
On my blog, I write a lot about finding the life you're supposed to live.
About what I would do if I couldn't fail.
I suspect that many of us battle with these thoughts. Who isn't afraid of failure? Of ridicule? Of wasting their life?
That's where believing in magic comes in handy. If you believe that anything is possible, you start out with a positive mindset. You are open to the world and to its infinite possibilities.
And with an open mind and open heart?
Darling, you can achieve anything you want.
Go ahead, and create the life you've always dreamed of!
You can do it.
Lots of love, Miriam
