Miriam, I agree with your husband—you do look badass and freaking beautiful!! And so does your daughter!
I didn't shave my hair but I did go super short a few years back and it was liberating at the time so I can totally understand that. I still get comments from people now that I looked better with it short! But I don't care what anyone else thinks, I'll always choose what I want for my hair, not what everybody else does!
I remember your short hair, it did look fantastic! You can pull off any hairstyle though, because you wear it with confidence and pizazz. I love that you do what's right for YOU, and not to please other people. That's a lesson I'm still working on.
I used to have a short pixie for years and loved it, but once the bangs and longer hair were there, I started to hide behind them. Not any more! While I wish there would have been a less serious reason for shaving it all off, I'm so happy I did it.
And my daughter is going to be fine, her prognosis is excellent.
Thank you, Amber! I know that you know from your own experience what it's like to watch someone you love go through illness, or to experience it yourself. The good news is that her prognosis is fantastic (screening found it very early), and she's keeping up her strength and spirit!
Hi Miriam! Loved this piece but I must comment on 2 things. First of all, your perfectly proportioned skull is the perfect vessel for your significant brain. Secondly, the depth of those blue eyes are getting the attention they deserve now that they don’t have to compete with the hair. And to conclude, there is not a more poignant photo of a mother and a daughter that shows the promise of love and support so beautifully!
As always, your eloquent way of expressing yourself has me in awe and made me smile. "your perfectly proportioned skull is the perfect vessel for your significant brain" - that's delicious. Thank you! I love that I could do that for Denise, she does so much for everyone. She's a gem, and she's on the road to recovery!
The swirl is just another part of what makes you, you!
My friend Mischelle once told me that what other people think of me is none of my business, and there is so much truth to that! Along with another favourite quote of mine from copywriter Peter Bowerman: "Other people spend amazingly little time thinking about you."
That's true and liberating, and I think you're awesome no matter how long your hair is because you're just badass and beautiful no matter what ❤️
Both quotes are SO good and so helpful! It's amazing how self-obsessed we get, especially when we're insecure about something. Thanks for your kind words of support, my friend! ❤️

So glad Denise is doing well. She certainly “shines” in your photo!
Be embraced,
Sandy
Thanks Sandy ❤️
This is just wonderful — and yes, totally badass! I really hope your daughter’s doing well, this must be such an anxious time for you all 💗
